Biography:
Leah Warner is a Professor of Psychology at Ramapo College of New Jersey. She received her BA from Vassar College and her PhD in Social Psychology and Women’s Studies from the Pennsylvania State University. Her interdisciplinary scholarship concerns intersectionality, having written widely on the challenges and transformative potential of integrating intersectionality into psychological research. Her scholarship also aims to bridge the gap between psychology and feminist, anti-racist, and postcolonial critiques of science. In addition, she engages in scholarship on social justice pedagogy, providing teaching strategies for addressing controversial social issues within U.S. sociopolitical contexts, efforts that led to her to receive the 2019 Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Teaching Innovation Award, a 2020 Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Action Teaching Grant, and a 2019 Association for Psychological Science Teaching Grant. She received the Florence L. Geis Memorial Dissertation Award and is currently on the editorial board for Sex Roles and Psychology of Women Quarterly. Finally, she has held numerous positions at her institution to promote diversity and inclusion, including Faculty Fellow for Equity and Diversity Programs.
